12 Days of Kindness. Day Five: Plant a Tree
Today we’ll extend our kindness to our beautiful planet. Today, we plant a tree.
Not all trees like being planted at this time of year, but citrus trees can be planted right through summer. We also love how their blossoms attract bees and smell beautiful! Check with your garden centre for some other good options, depending on the conditions of your garden.
Trees and plants also make wonderful eco-friendly Christmas gifts. If they’re fruit trees, they produce fresh fruit without any energy or transport costs. If we take the time to plant with our children, it helps them to gain an understanding of where food comes from, and to appreciate the magic of nature.
The learning opportunities in gardening are huge, a few of them are covered in this article from Curiate.
