Jo’s worked in early childhood centres in both England and New Zealand. Before joining New Shoots Hamilton in 2017, she was a nanny in England, homeschooling children with aspergers and autism.

“My passion is providing a safe, welcoming environment where tamariki feel they can explore, discover and create. I want to learn alongside them. I want to share their imagination, creativity and sparkle. I love how their faces light up, the fascination and excitement that comes with new learning and overcoming challenges. I feel special knowing they can turn to me when they're finding it tough and have a cuddle. I want to inspire them to be independent, determined and confident young people.

I have a Diploma in Childcare (UK) and am currently working towards my Bachelor of Teaching ECE. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my partner Regan, our cat Lexus and our incredibly cheeky Shepsky, Dodge. We also foster dogs and puppies through DC Rescue, and take part in lots of Hot Rod events in our 1951 Chev.”
