Tylah was born in Hamilton and has lived there all her life. She started at Hamilton New Shoots in January 2013 when it opened, as a part of the set up team. She began her time in the Infants room and has made her way around the centre. She is now the room leader of the Preschool room.

“I have always been passionate about working in Early Childhood Education and right from a young age knew that this was the career path I wanted to follow. I started my ECE degree in 2009 when I was only 16 so between studying and working I have had the opportunity to experience working with all age groups.

I am passionate about working with all age groups and love supporting each individual child to grow in their own way and time, and watching them develop into confident, competent learners. I love the relationships that not only comes from teaching the tamariki but from the parents and whanau too.

I am a very family/friend orientated person so when I am not working I love to spend as much time as I can with them. My partner and I also enjoy going on road trips and travelling around the country to see what our beautiful country has to offer.”
