Karyn Charles – Centre Director

I began my career in early childhood education in 2007, graduating with a Diploma of Teaching and Learning (Early Childhood Education) in 2010 and a Bachelor of Education in 2012.

“I’m passionate about creating an environment rich with aroha, respect, opportunities for learning and beautiful care rituals; focused on providing positive outcomes for children, their whānau and the wider community. I believe that relationships and play based curriculum builds the knowledge foundations for lifelong learning.

I joined the New Shoots team in 2011 with the opening of the Papamoa, Bay of Plenty and in 2016 became Centre Director of New Shoots Sandhurst, Bay of Plenty. I relocated to the beautiful Kerikeri in early 2020 and am looking forward to discovering Northland and building connections with families here.”
