Carina Perin - Teacher (Taniwha Room)
Originally from Brazil, Carina moved to New Zealand with her husband and 10-year-old son in 2014. She worked as a Primary School teacher in Brazil for 15 years and completed
a postgraduate course in Psych Pedagogy, which qualified her to teach in a ‘different way, looking at the students carefully and individually’.
“I believe in the power of communication to encourage preschoolers and help them to develop their best potential. It’s essential to build strong relationships with children and their whānau and provide an environment that helps to stimulate children’s curiosity and offers a world of possibilities for discovering and learning. I’m pleased to have the opportunity to spend my days with the children and be able to learn with them every day, because as a teacher I am also a lifelong learner.”
Carina started with the New Shoots whānau at the end of 2016, working as a reliever and after two months, she became a full time teacher in the Taniwha room.
