Terri found her niche in life while relieving in a London early childhood centre as a nursery nurse. In 2006, she began working with Toddlers and started studying.

She immigrated to New Zealand in 2009, and began working for a local preschool, furthering her studies and gaining her degree in Early Childhood Education. In early 2015, she joined the New Shoots family, working full time, and soon became a room leader of an Under 2’s room. Following her passion for toddlers, she moved into the Pukeko room, where she has been for a year and a half.

“Growing up in South Africa, my husband and I found a love for the outdoors, and as a family we spend a great deal of time at the beach, or going for walks. Our two daughters keep us very busy, with our oldest learning to surf and our youngest with her love for her bike.  There is rarely a dull moment.  Our youngest daughter is disabled, and she has inspired me to become more compassionate, and aware of the differences in every child, creating a better understanding of inclusion for everyone involved in an early childhood setting.”
