Rebecca was born in Rwanda, in Central Africa. She has been living in New Zealand for 12 years. She discovered her passion for teaching at an early age while babysitting her cousins, niece and nephew. In 2013 she began her first step in her early childhood career and, now holds an Early Childhood Diploma.

“In my spare time I enjoy reading books, exercising as well as listening to music from different countries.

As a teacher I believe each child is capable to achieve their goals when they are in an inclusive environment where teachers and whānau work alongside each other.  I believe that it is important to have a trusting reciprocal relationship with the learners and to ensure their needs are met.  It is extremely rewarding to see children making their own theories and making new discoveries.

I am delighted to be part of New Shoots teaching team. I am looking forward to getting to know you all.”
