We are pleased to share an important milestone in our journey – New Shoots is acquiring Educare Early Learning Centres’ network of centres across New Zealand!
With clearly aligned values, purposes, and a shared commitment to nurturing tamariki, we are excited to be partnering with Educare for the next stage of our journey. This marks an exciting opportunity for growth, as we expand our capacity to deliver high quality early childhood education to whānau across the country.
Since opening its first centre in Whangārei in 2005, Educare has been a trusted provider serving both regional and urban communities. As part of the New Shoots family, the network will continue to deliver its services as a distinct offering, with nearly 300 staff caring for 1,700 tamariki.
“This acquisition brings together two like-minded organisations that share the same values and commitment to providing the very best start in life for children,” shares New Shoots co-founder Michelle Pratt.
“By joining forces, we can strengthen our collective impact, expand access to quality early learning, and continue to build environments where children can truly thrive.”
Sharing our focus on whānau engagement, cultural responsiveness, and creating inspiring environments for tamariki, Educare is a natural partner for our next stage of growth. The move also marks a meaningful new chapter for Educare founders Alan and Jackie Lints, who started the organisation twenty years ago with the intention of spending more time with their one-year-old son.
“We see in New Shoots a partner who shares our values and our commitment to tamariki,” share Alan and Jackie.
“This next chapter ensures Educare’s centres and people are in great hands, and we’re excited to see how New Shoots will continue to grow and serve communities across Aotearoa.”
Both New Shoots and Educare will continue to operate under their current management structures. New Shoots CEO Christine Hall will step into the newly created Group CEO role, to support collaboration across the expanded network.
“Our priority is ensuring continuity and consistency for children, families, and teams across both networks,” shares Christine.
“We’re excited about the opportunities this partnership creates — from sharing best practice in teaching and learning, to investing in our people and communities as we grow.”
With Educare joining the New Shoots whānau, the combined organisation is set to deliver stronger outcomes for tamariki, whānau, and communities across Aotearoa. We are committed to continuing to nurture tamariki in environments where they can truly flourish.
