From the moment you and your tamariki walk through our doors, you’ll be welcomed into a centre that values warmth, connection, and care. Conveniently located on Cambridge Road, New Shoots Tauriko combines thoughtful design, a beautiful natural setting, and a team passionate about supporting every family’s journey.
New Shoots Tauriko is designed with children in mind. With high ceilings, exposed timber beams, and custom-made, child-friendly furniture, the interior spaces exude a lush, earthy aesthetic filled with natural light and seamless indoor-outdoor flow.
Outdoors, tamariki are free to explore. From the bike track and sandpits to the water feature and landscaped play areas, every corner invites adventure. With abundant greenery and generous covered decks, these spaces nurture a love of nature while inspiring curiosity, creativity, and connection.
At New Shoots Tauriko, our curriculum is grounded in care, kindness, and respect, with strong, trusting relationships at its heart. Our experienced kaiako thoughtfully design play-based learning that supports each child’s language, wellbeing, and growing independence — helping them build confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning from the very beginning.

Fees include nappies, meals, wetbag, bag and hat/beanie
New Shoots operates as a full day service and do not offer short days or sessions;
Our fees include high quality teacher ratios above Ministry of Education Standards;
Minimum enrolment is two days per week; A $50 enrolment fee will be due upon enrolment to confirm your place;
Two weeks notice is required when terminating enrolment; 10% discount is applicable to your eldest child’s fees if you have two or more children attending New Shoots full time;
Nappies and food are provided; and Formula is not provided – this must be brought in from home if required.
