Located on Cameron Road, opposite Tauranga Hospital, New Shoots Tauranga offers a convenient and trusted early childhood centre for busy families, healthcare professionals, and those working nearby.
From the moment you and your family arrive, there is a calm and considered approach to transitions, supporting children to settle, connect, and move into their day with ease.
At New Shoots Tauranga, every environment is shaped around how tamariki move, play, and learn throughout their day. It is not just about how a space looks, but how it feels, whether a child is seeking a quiet moment or ready to explore and try something new.
Inside, spaces are calm, welcoming, and purposeful, with natural light and carefully chosen resources that help children settle and engage in their play. Each room supports a different stage of development, from connection and security for our youngest tamariki through to collaboration and problem-solving for older children.
Outdoors, this learning comes together in a shared, multi-age space, where tamariki move between bike tracks, water play, climbing areas, and open spaces, learning alongside one another and building confidence through these shared experiences.

At New Shoots Tauranga, our curriculum is grounded in Te Whāriki and brought to life through meaningful, play-based experiences.
Our kaiako take an intentional approach, building on each child’s interests through conversation, storytelling, and shared experiences. Oral language sits at the heart of this work, supporting children to express themselves, build relationships, and grow in confidence.
Over time, children develop the foundations for a smooth transition to school, including independence, social confidence, and curiosity about the world around them. In the preschool space, an active STEM programme extends this learning through hands-on exploration and problem-solving.
Strong relationships underpin everything we do, creating a sense of security that allows learning to unfold naturally.

Fees include nappies, meals, wetbag, bag and hat/beanie
New Shoots operates as a full day service and do not offer short days or sessions;
Our fees include high quality teacher ratios above Ministry of Education Standards;
Minimum enrolment is two days per week; A $50 enrolment fee will be due upon enrolment to confirm your place;
Two weeks notice is required when terminating enrolment; 10% discount is applicable to your eldest child’s fees if you have two or more children attending New Shoots full time;
Nappies and food are provided; and Formula is not provided – this must be brought in from home if required.
