Children feel at home the minute they enter New Shoots. Catering to Tauranga’s ever-growing community at The Lakes, New Shoots is conveniently located down the road from the local school, and with many parks and walking trails on our doorstep. Our early childhood centre is the perfect choice for the many young families at The Lakes.
Winner of the 2020 Waikato / Bay of Plenty Architectural Awards, our purpose-built centre boasts high ceilings, exposed timber beams and a translucent roof strip. Within our walls, the rooms are filled with custom-made child-friendly furniture, a lush, earthy aesthetic and plenty of stunning Tauranga sunlight.
With an abundance of greenery, two sandpits, and a generous covered deck, our outside area lets children connect with nature, explore their boundaries and hone their creativity.
The outdoors is shared by all our tamariki, cementing our centre’s family feel. Nobody is a stranger and children float naturally between teachers and spaces as they might with a large, extended family.

New Shoots operates as a full day service and do not offer short days or sessions;
Our fees include high quality teacher ratios above Ministry of Education Standards;
Minimum enrolment is two days per week; A $50 enrolment fee will be due upon enrolment to confirm your place;
Two weeks notice is required when terminating enrolment; 10% discount is applicable to your eldest child’s fees if you have two or more children attending New Shoots full time;
Nappies and food are provided; and Formula is not provided – this must be brought in from home if required.
